Richard Grossman is a poet (Tycoon Boy and The Animals) and a novelist whose work has appeared in over a hundred publications. The Alphabet Man, describing hell, is the first novel in his American Letters Trilogy, a "Divine Comedy" of American life. His novel on purgatory is The Book of Lazarus.
